Welcome to our beautiful vacation rental in historic Monterey, TN! This charming log-sided Barnhouse is the perfect place to relax and unwind with your loved ones. Just off I-40, it's conveniently located near the Train Depot Museum and within walking distance of the charming town's restaurants, antiques shopping, bakery, park, tennis courts, public swimming pool, and beauty shop.
In addition to the town's attractions, our rental is also close to the Old Gray Entertainment Venue, where you can enjoy live performances and events. So, whether you're looking to immerse yourself in the town's rich history, indulge in delicious local treats, or enjoy some live entertainment, everything is within reach.

Two living areas for eating and watching TV. The loft room has 2 futons, a table w/ 4 chairs, a 2nd large screen TV, mini-fridge, small 1/2 bath, and closet. This is the best room to gather to watch TV for groups of 4 or more.. The back yard is quite private and peaceful.
There are 2 driveways with enough parking for 3+ cars. Parking in this small town is quite easy and free.
Our cabin in historical Monterey is a great place to pull over and rest on your way through Tennessee and enjoy our Cherokee and Coal Miners history and do some hiking, rock climbing, repelling, mountain biking

Our cabin is clean and cozy... and you can walk to Monterey Train Depot Museum and learn about the rich history of the locals and what brought them to the Upper Cumberland Mountains. Learn about the Native Americans that followed the herds of buffalo and even the saber tooth tiger. Learn about those that followed after coal and timber and caused the building of a mountain town we call “home.”

The Monterey is like a little " Mayberry", with friendly people and cute little shops down town that are fun to browse through. The Train Depot Museum tells the history of our town and mountain. There are antique stores, mom and pop restaurants, wonderful bakeries, a great Mexican store with all kinds of treasures from Mexico, Phillips shoes has great discounts on leather shoes and purses, Bee Rock is great place for hiking, repelling, a picnic, or just enjoying the mountain view and peace. There are many lakes, rivers and waterfalls within a short driving distance. Several state parks surround us.
We are a couple blocks off I 40, centrally located between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga, and between Cookeville and Crossville. We're just 2 1/2 hours to the Smokies. And we are surrounded by beautiful state parks and golf clubs.
Fast Wifi is provided. Roku TV: Stream Netflix, Disney, Prime, Youtube, etc.
The next-door neighbor owns large dogs but they are very sweet and have never barked or charged. They are usually kept inside but from time to time the owner brings them outside.
